Sarah’s Bio
Your major: Animation
Your hometown: West Jordan, Utah
Where do you live now? West Jordan, Utah
What are you passionate about? I’m passionate about drawing, animating, and storytelling. I’m constantly inspired by indie, DreamWorks, and Pixar animation. I’ve always wanted to create animations of my own, to inspire and motivate others.
What is your favorite class (or classes) at SLCC? This is my 2nd year at SLCC, so far my favorite class has been ART 1620 Introduction to Animation. I’ve learned to be less of a perfectionist and enjoy the process of creating.
Which actor/actress would play you in your life movie? Jenna Ortega, I enjoy her acting skills in thriller movies. I’ve always loved “The Adams Family” movies while growing up. She was amazing in the recent “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” movie.
Where do you see yourself in five years? I see myself as having graduated from SLCC and making my way into the BYU animation program.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be? I would have the power to teleport, so I can skip travel and have more time to enjoy the things I love.
Something about you that other people would be surprised to know: I love playing video games with my brothers. I dominate my brothers at “Buckshot Roulette” and I love the world building aspect in “Rainworld”.
Sarah’s Favorites
Favorite musicians and/or artists: I love listening to AJR, it’s interesting to see how they create their songs around unique noises. Their concerts have the best lighting effects and stage performances I’ve ever gone to. I relate to their songs since they cover the uncertainty of life.
Favorite TV shows and/or movies: My favorite TV show has got to be “Chowder” and “Courage the Cowardly Dog” from Cartoon Network. I cherish those memories of watching cartoons every day with my family. “Puss in Boots: the Last Wish” is my favorite movie because of the 3d aspects mimicking 2d animation styles and the characters.
Favorite sports or sports teams: I love marching bands. I consider them a sport because of the sheer dedication and skill it takes to do a marching band show. I would know since I played in my high school marching band for four years. It takes a lot of discipline and teamwork to play an instrument while running for 10 or more minutes straight.
Favorite food: My favorite food will always be sandwiches, I love how customizable a sandwich can be. Along with the variety of textures one bite can have. My all time favorite sandwich is a cold ham and cheese sandwich. Love me some Subway sandwiches.
What’s your favorite place to eat? Cafe Rio, I love their shredded chicken and the variety of options and toppings. Warm Mexican food always feeds my soul.
What was your favorite cereal as a kid? Honey Nut Cheerios with sliced bananas was my go to cereal. I loved the crunch of it despite always getting bad breath from it. Nothing better than eating cold cereal while watching cartoons.
