Jacob’s Bio
Your major: Music
Your hometown: South Jordan
Where do you live now? South Jordan
What are you passionate about? I am super passionate about stories and the arts. I love music, writing, digital art, theatre, anything that involves expression and imagination I love. I’m always coming up with stories in my head, and I even have my own comic strip series as a hobby.
What is your favorite class (or classes) at SLCC? There are 2 classes that come to mind that are my favorite classes at SLCC. The first is an Electronic Music Composition class. We got to learn about sound engineering and playing around with synthesizers. The other is a Voiceover class. I got to voice act some characters in that class, so it was very fun.
Which actor/actress would play you in your life movie? I’ve been told throughout my life that I look like Rupert Grint, who played Ron Weasley, and Ed Sheeran. Personally, I don’t see it. I feel like Eddie Redmayne is the closest to looking like me that I can think of.
Where do you see yourself in five years? I’m hoping to find a new job I like in five years. I’m unsure if I’ll stick around at SLCC or transfer to a different university after my Gen Ed is finished. I love my education, but I’ve never been concerned about getting degrees or stuff. All I want is to find an occupation that is sustainable to me and that I can be happy with.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be? If I could have any superpower, I know it’s a bit unconventional, but I would actually have three powers, Lightning, Water, and Flight. I remember when I was a kid, me and my friends talked about our superhero names and our 3 superpowers, and I thought those 3 powers were so cool, so those would be my powers.
Something about you that other people would be surprised to know: Despite my shy and introverted nature, I really enjoy being in the company of other people. I feel a lot of people might get the impression that I dislike interacting with people, when in reality I’m just a very quiet individual who doesn’t have much to say.
Jacob’s Favorites
Favorite musicians and/or artists: I like all kinds of music and musicians. My favorite kind of music is edm. My first ever introduction to the genre was Skrillex and Deadmau5 and since then I listened to exclusively to electronic music.
Favorite TV shows and/or movies: My favorite movie to this day is The Incredibles. I enjoyed it as a kid, and as an adult, it’s a film that still holds up. I also grew up watching Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, so that would be my pick for favorite TV Show.
Favorite sports or sports teams: I don’t really watch or play a lot of sports. I remember I was in a swim team for a vast majority of my childhood. I loved just floating and swimming around in the water. It was very relaxing to me.
Favorite food: My Go-To food would have to be pizza. I’m not sure why I always think of pizza as my favorite. All I know is I think of pizza when I’m not sure what I want to eat.
What’s your favorite place to eat? Currently, I’ve been going to a place called Raising Cane’s a lot. I like it because the process of getting the food is so simple, because their whole menu is just chicken strips and fries. No need to think too hard about it.
What was your favorite cereal as a kid? My favorite cereal used to be Lucky Charms because it’s straight sugar with marshmellows. My now favorite cereal is Waffle Crisps because it’s more sugar with a syrupy taste.
