Where do you live now? Salt Lake City, UT
What are you passionate about? I enjoy watching sports and reading comic books. I have enjoyed watch sports for most of my life. I follow many pro sports leagues including the NFL, MLB, the NBA and the NHL. I follow college football as well. I began reading comic books in 2012. I enjoyed comic book movies and television shows but I did not read comic books growing up until the last several years
What is your favorite class (or classes) at SLCC? I enjoy the classes COMM 1560 Radio Performance and Production and COMM 2570 Introduction to Visual Communication. Radio Performance and Production is interesting because the course involves getting the experience of speaking on the SLCC radio network and at SLCC sporting events. Introduction to Visual Communication is an interesting course because I have the opportunity to learn how significant communication is through images and photos are and how images and photos are processed.
Which actor/actress would play you in your life movie? I have been a fan of Michael Keaton since I saw the movie Batman when I was a child. He has a lot of range as an actor and can play many types of characters effectively.
Where do you see yourself in five years? I see myself being a radio producer for a sports radio station. I enjoy listening to sports talk radio and I would like to work for a radio station where I have an interest in the content at the station I am working at.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be? There are quite a few superpowers I would like to have since I enjoy comic books, superhero movies and television shows. If I had to choose one superpower, having psychokinetic abilities would be interesting. Perhaps it is because I enjoy the show Stranger Things but I think it would be interesting to move things with my mind.
Something about you that other people would be surprised to know: I have cerebral palsy and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Matt’s Favorites
Favorite musicians and/or artists: I enjoy listening to classical music. Led Zeppelin and Fleetwood Mac are two of my favorite artists. Led Zeppelin has been one of my favorite artists since I began to classic rock regularly. I saw Fleetwood Mac in concert in 2014 and I enjoyed the experience of seeing a band live from the classic rock genre.
Favorite TV shows and/or movies: I enjoy the television show Stranger Things. Dustin is my favorite character because of his sense of humor. I enjoy a lot of the pop culture references and music due to the time period the show takes place in.
Favorite sports or sports teams: I like baseball, football, basketball and hockey.
Favorite food: I enjoy several kinds of foods but I do not have a favorite.
What’s your favorite place to eat? I do not eat out that often and I prefer to cook my meals at home.
What was your favorite cereal as a kid? Life. I know it is vanilla but I have always enjoyed it.
