Trencil’s Bio

Your major: Biology

Your hometown: Salt Lake City

Where do you live now? West Valley City

What are you passionate about? I’m really pretty passionate around aquatics. I know a lot of people tend to use the term fishkeeping but I don’t know how much that applies to me, because fish are usually more of an afterthought than anything. I’m far more interested in invertebrates and the like. Stuff like shrimp, snails, sea urchins, or crabs. I love them all. I’m also hugely passionate in photography and image editing, I love to make deliberately harsh edits with bright, bright colors that really tend to stand out. I use them as a very powerful method of expression.

What is your favorite class (or classes) at SLCC? Right now Comm 1560 is my favorite! I love microphones and audio equipment and editing, doing everything behind a camera takes the biggest stress of mine out of performing and I really feel I can come into myself.

Which actor/actress would play you in your life movie? I think anyone who could deliver a stilted, a little awkward, but still emotional performance would work well. Jack Stauber hopped into my mind because I barely watch movies. I could also maybe see someone like Michael Cera fitting the bill.

Where do you see yourself in five years? I hope to see myself with a job in five years at least. I’m still debating a major so I can’t really tell what that job will be, but I really hope I’ll have one. I also hope I won’t stop my artistic pursuits. I really hope I keep doing audio performances and editing, and photography.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be? I would definitely enjoy shapeshifting, I would love to be able to change my form to anything that I think fits me.

Something about you that other people would be surprised to know: I think given my more closed in behavior, people would probably be pretty surprised to find out that I host quite a few events and games online.

Trencil’s Favorites

Favorite musicians and/or artists: Early Jack Stauber sticks out, Viator is absolutely my favorite album ever made and sticks out as a super emotional piece. I also think that Lemon Demon has a lot of fun songs that are really sing-along-to-able, but I think if I was completely put on the spot I’d probably say Modest Mouse.

Favorite TV shows and/or movies: My tastes tend to fluctuate a bit, but I’ve been really into Gregory Horror Show for quite a bit. I don’t know if it’s really the absolute highest quality show out there but it’s really got a lot of interesting elements to it that I appreciate.

Favorite sports or sports teams: For a while I would’ve said I don’t like sports all that much, but I really came into my own with hockey. I can’t say I play all to well, but there’s something to swinging a big stick around at a puck.

Favorite food: I think literally any variation on meat with side and pan sauce/gravy is just about the best thing imaginable.

What’s your favorite place to eat? I like to go ham with a little McDonald’s every now and then.

What was your favorite cereal as a kid? As a kid I loved Chex more than just about anything else- I think mostly because it got better as it got soggy as opposed to getting worse.
