Where do you live now? Kearns, Utah.
What are you passionate about? I’m passionate about Corgis because lets be honest…Who doesn’t love them? I really love animals, that’s the reason I went vegetarian in 2016.
What is your favorite class (or classes) at SLCC? COMM 1560 (Radio Performance) and COMM1130 (Media Writing and Journalism) because they have taken me out of my comfort zone and helped open up to people. This classes are helping me with my confidence and shyness and they’re allowing me to learn something new about myself everyday.
Which actor/actress would play you in your life movie? Chelsea Peretti. She’s nothing like me, but it would make me seem a lot more fun and cooler than I actually am.
Where do you see yourself in five years? Getting deep real fast, huh? I wish I had a concrete answer to this but let’s be honest. I’m 21 years old, I’m still figuring life out. After SLCC, I want to transfer somewhere else and hopefully I can find a job as a journalist and writer.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be? I would love to fly! This is one of the most basic super powers but I think its a really fun one. I can’t drive so it would be a great and entertaining way to get to places.
Something about you that other people would be surprised to know: People are always surprised when they find out I learned English (my second language) all by myself by watching Disney movies and listening to the Jonas Brothers music.I never had classes at all so some get impressed at how easy I picked up the language.
Gaby’s Favorites
Favorite musicians and/or artists: I love Kpop, specially groups such as BTS and Loona. I like the diversity in their songs and how talented they are. I love fun, pop songs that I can dance to. However I also love La Dispute and The Neighborhood because of their passionate lyrics and intensity.
Favorite TV shows and/or movies: I’m currently obsessed with Brooklyn 99, it’s my favorite show. I also adore Doctor Who and Supernatural.
Favorite sports or sports teams: I don’t actually know anything about sports so I don’t really have favorite team, however, I do appreciate the beauty of ice skating.
Favorite food: I am in love with pupusas. They’re a traditional Salvadoran meal, I grew up eating them all the time so they have emotional significance to me.
What’s your favorite place to eat? I love the “Vertical Dinner”, its a vegan restaurant with delicious meals and the most amazing veggie wings. I’m a vegetarian and I really appreciate a good vegan meals.
What was your favorite cereal as a kid? Lucky charms are and will always be my favorite cereal. I just love anything with sugar!
