Jake’s Bio

Your major: Media Music

Your hometown: Kalispell, Montana

Where do you live now? Salt Lake City

What are you passionate about? I love sound and in turn, music. I want to study sound design so I can craft my own soundscapes. Whether it be for meditation and relaxation, instrumental story telling, or just getting down on the dancefloor, sound enables you to create an atmosphere of endless posibilities.

What is your favorite class (or classes) at SLCC? So far COM 1560 has been my favorite class. It’s been the quickest to get hands on and instantly emerses you in recording and editing sound.

Which actor/actress would play you in your life movie? I’ve never been one to follow actors/actresses but I’ve been told Ryan Gosling and I have similar eyes.

Where do you see yourself in five years? Either in Denver trying to make it in the bass music scene, or in New York living with my friend on the property he just got, trying to get into the east coast music scene.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be? I’m all about dominion over time. If you had this power, you would be virtually unstoppable. What is reality at that point? Just try and do over any scenario your faced with until you get the outcome you want.

Something about you that other people would be surprised to know: I am the only Jake Gloschat in the whole world. My grandma loves researching family history, and spent a good portion of her life tracing back family lines and looking for relatives.

Jake’s Favorites

Favorite musicians and/or artists: The front man of Coheed and Cambria, Claudio Sanchez. He has a series of comics he makes called “The Amory Wars” and writes about them in his music. There are 7 albums dedicated to telling the stories so far with an 8th to be released on October 5th. He’s incredible.

Favorite TV shows and/or movies: I was pretty impressed with “A Quiet Place”. I enjoyed the story and thought it was really well put together. The fact that John Krasinski directed it, who everyone knows as Jim from “The Office”, blew my mind. Another really talented human being.

Favorite sports or sports teams: Not into sports, but I enjoy watching soccer or rugby if its on while Im at the bar.

Favorite food: pizza gang, pizza gang, pizza gang, but with chicken and waffles a close second.

What’s your favorite place to eat? Pig and A Jelly Jar for their delicious chicken and waffles. It’s a really small diner and it tastes like they use quality ingredients.

What was your favorite cereal as a kid? My family lived off cereal, it seemed like, so there was always a variety. Knock off cocoa puffs mixed with knock off frosted flakes was my jam.
